Turquoise & Black Ambrosia Maple Bowl
This beautiful bowl was turned from a solid block of Ambrosia Maple. It measures 2.75 inches tall and 7 inches wide with interior bowl depth  measuring approx. 2 inches in depth. It has beautiful inlay design of both Turquoise and Black  Milliput epoxy putty in main body of the bowl as well as Turquoise banding on it's base and top rim.

  • AMBROSIA MAPLE 

    Ambrosia Maple is technically not a specific species of maple, but rather a general description of any type of maple that has been infested by ambrosia beetles. The beetles bore into the tree, and with it bring fungus that discolors the wood creating a variety of greyish-blue to brown streaks. Ambrosia Maple is considered a decorative feature which gives the wood additional character. Maple (Acer saccharum) sapwood color ranges from nearly white, to an off-white cream color, sometimes with a reddish or golden hue. The heartwood tends to be a darker reddish brown. Straight, close grain with a fine, uniform texture.
